In this new creation, the Kafka group wishes to venture into the field of anticipation by imagining the possible futures of humanity: in its environment (from the destruction of nature to the “conquest” of space), in society (democracy, individual freedoms, terrorism…), in technological progress (transhumanism, AI, extension of the application domains of networks, techno-security system…), in the economy (evolution of capitalism, self-management, new resources in space, privatisation…).

"eau vive"

Augmented reality mural by Guillaumit (2021)

Médiathèque Hugo-Pratt, 1 Rue Pierre Jacquet, Cournon-d'Auvergne

This fresco, created during a creative residency in Châtel-Guyon, shows the colorful and zany world of Guillaumit, who was inspired by the numerous earthenware pieces found inside the building of the former thermal baths.
To prolong the enjoyment, download the application Carnaval Augmenté to play on your phone in augmented reality while filming the fresco. Eau vive becomes a game in which you have to try to feed a plant.

I will sleep when I’m dead | Jeanne Susplugas | 2020 | France

« I will sleep when I’m dead » several words borrowed from Bon Jovi reveal a lot about Jeanne Susplugas’ work, the brain and our thoughts, so difficult to tame.
Thanks to the «techno-magic» of virtual reality, the viewer dives into a skull amongst neurons and synapses, gets lost in an infinite maze and crosses paths with «thoughts» materialized by drawings looking like pictograms. It is an intimate head to head, almost psychoanalytical which introduces an intense and unique experience.
Submerged in the brain, tortuous, sometimes foggy, the audience will have to follow, at their convenience several journeys related to their thoughts. According to a bundle of «narratives», everyone will be free to experience their own mental journey.

How to Disappear / Robin Klengel, Leonhard Müllner, Michael Stumpf / 2020 / AUT / 21’06
VIDEOFORMES 2021 Award

Is it possible to desert in a shooter game? Along this question, “How to Disappear” reflects on war and game, discipline and disobedience. For the history of defiance is as old as the history of war – and yet the act of desertion goes beyond the game’s space of action. Shot in the martial yet picturesque war landscapes of the online shooter “Battlefield V”.

A half-dreamed memory / Úrsula San Cristóbal / 2021 / Spain / 6’26

Between memory, dream and nightmare, between human skin and digital technology, looking for an image and a sound to express wishes, affections, fears, anguish, strength, fragility and hope. A process where pleasure resides in the search in itself.
